Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. It was a really nice day today for us with beautiful weather. We had pretty much close to a sold-out boat with 73 anglers. We had limits of sculpin, 120 red snapper, 56 rockfish, and 35 whitefish. So really good bottom fishing for us with a variety of different fish. It made for a nice day for everybody. We had a lot of newcomers with a lot of rent rods, so a lot of people were catching their first fish. It was pretty easy fishing on the bottom. Conditions are definitely shaping up, so hopefully stuff keeps coming around here. Bobby has the latest fish report and tackle recommendations for you below.

Bobby checked in for the City of Long Beach out of Pierpoint Landing. We had a decent day today with our 63 anglers. We had limits of sculpin 43 red snapper, 3 sheephead, 20 perch, and 1 lingcod. So, not too bad of a day overall. We didn't get too much bait this morning or yesterday, so we weren't really able to fish bass or barracuda, so we stuck to the bottom stuff. I don't know what the plan is for the weekend, but we'll take it as it comes. Hopefully, we get some anchovy at the barge, and maybe we'll fish some bass or barracuda after the sculpin. Ray checked in for the Toronado out of Pierpoint Landing. Hey guys, we have a charter coming up Friday night for Saturday, but we get in Saturday night, we are open party for Sunday. I believe the cost is $200, it's a 1-day trip, been some pretty decent fishing at the islands here lately, and that's where we're going to go on our schedule right now. If these tuna continue to show up close, we might try that, but Sunday's trip will be fishing the islands. And then I had a good group of guys that were chartering the boat on Aug. 23rd and the 24th, and they couldn't make it, and so we had to cancel that charter. Somebody called me last week about that date, so if you're still interested, call me back, it is now open. If I don't hear from somebody quickly, I will turn it to an open party, and those are always fun. That one is a 2-day trip, leaving Friday the 22nd, fishing the 23rd and 24th, and we'll get you back in here about 7 o'clock on Sunday. We didn't really fish the bass and ended up fishing sculpin most of the time. So, our count for today for our 41 anglers was limits of sculpin, 3 calico bass, 11 sand bass, and 3 sheephead. Unfortunately, the bass didn't really want to bite for us too much. We tried fishing a few different areas, and it didn't really work out too well. But we did get some really good-sized sculpin, and got done with limits pretty quickly. We got some fish in the bag, so the people were happy. Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. Hey, guys. Just calling with a really fun fishing again this morning on the sand bass. Good sand bassing, and there's quite a bit of barracuda around as well. Picking away at them, but there's more to show on the barracuda, then the bass are alive and well, and eating well. So we have had a really good morning of bass fishing so far. We've got big-mouthed chronicles guys out here with us today, and they're having a blast. They're feeding the cold snipers really good, and the A-rig things really, really well. Just getting two, three at a time on those. Just some other odds and ends, but good fishing times. And we'll have a wrap-up for you later this evening. The weather's absolutely beautiful. Nice overcast morning here. Not too hot, not too cold. Donny checked in for Pierpoint Landing. The City of Long Beach is going for sure today at 10 o'clock. Kids fish free, and then tomorrow the City of Long Beach is going at 10 every day for the rest of the week.

The Enterprise will be going for sure tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. They're leaving at 6 o'clock and they're going every day for the rest of the week and kids fish free. Wednesday trips the same price but we have a limited number. It's only going to be 35 max people on the boat so book online. Both boats are targeting the sand bass, the sculpin, the barracuda, the occasional halibut, and the sheephead.

We did that a little earlier this morning, got our sculpin out of the way, and did that. Now this afternoon, there's a lot of barracuda. So, barracuda have moved in in pretty good numbers here, a lot of fish. Some of the guys that tossing the A-rig things are loading up. And popping up all around the boat here, nice big fish. Good fishing and weather's beautiful out here. Water's super clean, current's right. Barracuda put on a hell of a show here. So, that's our midday report. And I've got kind of a mixed bag, some yellowtail, halibut, barracuda, bonita, and some nice calico bass here for the guys so far. Still got a little bit of time trying to fish here, trying to get on some more yellowtail at the island. The weather's pretty nice here so far. Andrew checked in for the Enterprise out of Pierpoint Landing. This morning we had a rent rod charter, so we went to do the bass thing in the morning. We had a good bite on sand bass. It was a lot of fun, the guys had a good time, and the weather was beautiful. We moved out and did the sculpin thing as well, so good fishing for the rent rod group. We kind of elected not to do the barracuda thing because we didn't have anyone who could really cast or anything. If you're coming on our trip tomorrow, we're out with a super light load of only 23 people signed up so far. Please bring the surface irons and different types of lures with you since we'll be doing some barracuda fishing. If you're coming on any of these trips coming up, bring a little of everything!
